RAW FETAL BOVINE SERUM
origin: South America
Fetal Bovine Serum is the liquid part of the blood depleted of the cellular fraction and coagulation factors. It is extracted from clotted fetal bovine blood, collected aseptically, after centrifugation.
Fetal Bovine serum contains proteins and growth factors allowing maintenance and proliferation of eukaryote cells in vitro. It also contains attachment factors that create a “coating” effect on the plastic of the support, thus increasing cell adhesion. It is an essential product in cell culture because of the different components it provides.
All FBS batches are tested for Endotoxin and IgG levels.
Intended Use
For Further Manufacturing or Research Use Only. Not for Diagnostic or Therapeutic Use.
Storage and Stability
Store at -18°C to-40°C. Product is stable for 4 years from the date of manufacture if kept at frozen temperature. We suggest that the product should not be subjected to multiple freeze-thaw cycles, should be made into aliquots. Turbidity or flocculent material may be observed upon thawing or prolonged storage at refrigerated temperatures. This is normal in most serum products and not detrimental to its performance.
