The high quality fetal bovine serum collected from New Zealand was further processed to obtain this series of products. Fetal bovine serum (FBS), IgG Depleted is widely used in eukaryotic cell culture, typically as a supplement for growth media. Fetal bovine serum contains nutritional and embryonic growth promoting factors that are essential for a successful cell culture. Further, fetal bovine serum contains various small molecules, such as, e.g., amino acids, lipids, sugars, and hormones.
To reduce/deplete the IgG content below 5 µg/ml, the FBS is processed through protein A-Sepharose columns. This process is gentle to the product and ensures an unimpaired growth promotion. The specially treated FBS has a very low IgG antibody concentration and is outstandingly suitable for hybridoma cell culture. Thereby, the IgG stripped FBS facilitates the purification of monoclonal antibodies.
Intended Use
For Further Manufacturing or Research Use Only. Not for Diagnostic or Therapeutic Use.
Use Instructions
For use in cell culture media, the supplementation ranges from 5% to 20%. The optimum concentration concentration should be determined by the ultimate user.
Heat Inactivation
Serum may be heat inactivated at 56°C for 30 minutes.
Storage and Stability
Store at -10°C to-40°C. Product is stable for 5 years from the date of manufacture if kept at frozen temperature. We suggest that the product should not be subjected to multiple freeze-thaw cycles, should be made into aliquots. Turbidity or flocculent material may be observed upon thawing or prolonged storage at refrigerated temperatures. This is normal in most serum products and not detrimental to its performance.
