The Iron-Supplemented Calf Serum is collected through venipuncture from  formula-fed veal calves.This feeding method can produce high levels of transferrin in the serum of calves.The calf serum collected after scientific feeding can provide three to four times available iron as much effective iron as fetal bovine serum.All the raw materials of our iron supplement calf serum collected from native healthy calves scientifically fed are filtered through sequential 100 nm (0.1 µm) pore size-rated filters. The data we collected indicate that the performance of our Iron-Supplemented Calf Serum in many applications will be equal to or even exceed FBS.

Use Instructions

For use in cell culture media, the supplementation ranges from 5% to 20%. The optimum concentration concentration should be determined by the ultimate user. 

Heat Inactivation

Serum may be heat inactivated at 56°C for 30 minutes.  

Storage and Stability

Store at -10°C to-40°C. Product is stable for 5 years from the date of manufacture if kept at frozen temperature. We suggest that the product should not be subjected to multiple freeze-thaw cycles, should be made into aliquots. Turbidity or flocculent material may be observed upon thawing or prolonged storage at refrigerated temperatures. This is normal in most serum products and not detrimental to its performance.
